Google has integrated its upgraded note-taking app, NotebookLM Plus, into its One AI Premium plan, enhancing the value for subscribers by adding premium features at no extra cost.
Google integrates NotebookLM Plus into One AI Premium plan
NotebookLM, first launched by Google in 2023, assists users in researching topics and organizing notes using AI. The application has evolved to include interactive features, such as the ability to explore YouTube videos more deeply and convert research into a podcast featuring two AI hosts.
In December 2024, Google introduced the NotebookLM Plus plan, aimed at businesses, schools, organizations, and enterprise customers. NotebookLM Plus provides five times more Audio Overviews, notebooks, queries, and sources per notebook compared to the standard version. Additionally, it allows users to customize notebook sharing options and track daily views.
The Google One AI Premium plan is priced at $19.99 per month, which includes 2TB of storage and access to Gemini Advanced models in Workspace applications like Gmail and Docs. For U.S. students over the age of 18, a special discounted rate of $9.99 per month is available for a year.
NotebookLM functions as a research and thinking companion, enabling users to upload materials, summarize information, pose questions, and create engaging formats, such as podcast-style discussions. It serves as a resource for students and professionals alike, facilitating the synthesis of data for projects and supporting career certifications.
NotebookLM Plus features and accessibility
The addition of NotebookLM Plus to the Google One AI Premium plan enhances existing benefits, including Gemini Advanced access and 2TB of cloud storage, all at the same price point. This integration is designed to provide users with higher usage limits and more customization options for their research.
To further support students, Google is rolling out a 50% discount for the One AI Premium plan. Eligible U.S. students can verify their status and access the reduced rate to work with course materials and create custom study tools.
Previously, NotebookLM Plus was only available to certain Google Cloud and Workspace account tiers. Now, users can access the full suite of Gemini Advanced-powered tools for $20 per month, or $10 for students, making it a cost-effective option for those in academia.
Google continues to expand the capabilities of its AI tools. The integration of Gemini into services such as Drive and Docs reflects the company’s commitment to providing innovative solutions for both students and professionals. Here’s how to get started.
