Singapore Airlines has just sent out an email to members that Garuda Indonesia has been added as new KrisFlyer airline partner to earn and redeem miles (on select routes) effective February 13, 2025.
Members are now able to earn KrisFlyer miles on Garuda Indonesia-operated flights between Singapore and Jakarta, Surabaya and Denpasar.
You can access all SIA partners to earn miles with KrisFlyer here.
Krisflyer has a range of partners that aren’t Star Alliance members but that have been cooperating with SIA in various ways, such as codesharing, facility sharing, and other bilateral partnership agreements.
Here is what the email says:

Travelers to/from Indonesia now have a bit more selection options when it comes to flights, but status members traveling Economy Class won’t be very phased by this, given there are no ground benefits.
Conclusion
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer has added Garuda Indonesia as an airline partner to earn and redeem miles on the carrier’s routes to Singapore since February 13, 2025. Of course, Garuda will remain a SkyTeam carrier, and this partnership is for plain, redeemable miles only. No status benefits are conferred for tier members.
There is indeed quite a bit of traffic between Singapore and Indonesia but I’m curious how many Krisflyer members really use Garuda Indonesia rather than SIA itself, let alone have any desire to use miles on them.
I wonder what caused them to suddenly add Garuda to the list, but there are a few KF partners that seem rather exotic and out of the blue. This was initially announced in May of last year, but nothing has happened publicly since. Probably regulatory delays, which can take quite a while in Indonesia.
