Marriott opened a JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge in Kenya in 2023. I visited the property 14 months ago, and it was truly a fantastic experience.
Marriott has now signed The Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp, which is scheduled to open in August 2025, and JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp, which will come online in early 2026.

Conclusion
These two properties are owned by the same group that opened the JW Masai Mara Lodge in 2023 and who also owns the Crowne Plaza Hotel at the Nairobi Airport.
There was also some chatter about the Ritz-Carlton opening when I was in Masai Mara and chatted with the owner, who was very hands-on at the property.
It isn’t easy to see how they can up the JW Masai Mara Lodge experience and make the Ritz-Carlton even more luxurious.
And these “tents” are not really tents, as seen from the YouTube video above.
