World of Hyatt points sales usually offer a maximum 40% bonus or 30% discount during regular sales.
The cost of a World of Hyatt point purchased under this offer at a 25% bonus is 1.92 cents each. During the previous sales, the lowest price of a point was usually 1.68 cents.
Does it make sense to purchase points at this price?
It only makes sense if you use them at costly Hyatt properties such as the Park Hyatt Maldives, Kyoto, or Tokyo. However, lower-category properties sometimes make sense when the paid rates are high.
Award rooms with Hyatt are available for sale as long as standard rooms are available. This means that points are usually a good value if something is going on in the city, bringing the paid rates throughout the roof.
It’s worthwhile to check the current points rates if you have a particular stay in mind.
Conclusion
This is a fairly typical price for Hyatt’s points, sold a few times yearly. We haven’t seen these greater bonuses or discounts lately beyond last year’s brief Flash Sale.
