JetBlue is adding even more flights to Europe, this time setting its sights on taking its customers to a brand-new destination next year: Spain.
The airline announced Tuesday it will begin flying daily to Madrid (MAD) starting next spring while also adding a second nonstop to Edinburgh (EDI) in Scotland from Boston (BOS). JetBlue launched a seasonal flight to Edinburgh from New York City (JFK) this year, but now Boston gets in on the action – and this will be the first time the carrier will fly to Spain.
Both new routes will operate seasonally, starting May 22 and running through Oct. 24, 2025. And they’ll both be on JetBlue’s signature Airbus A321 aircraft, which features JetBlue’s excellent Mint business class suites. These new transatlantic flights are already on sale, though we’re not seeing them on other sites like Google Flights as of publication – only directly at JetBlue.com
It’s been just over three years since JetBlue became a player in the U.S.-to-Europe market, but they’ve grown fast. With the addition of Madrid, JetBlue will fly nonstop to seven different European destinations. Other destinations include Amsterdam (AMS), Dublin (DUB), London-Gatwick (LGW), London-Heathrow (LHR), and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG).
In the midst of reinventing itself after years of financial struggles, JetBlue is doing things differently. The airline is finally planning to open up its own lounges in both New York and Boston while also launching a premium travel credit card.
But it’s not all positive news. These additions come after JetBlue has made some subtractions across the Atlantic – most recently, cutting its route from New York City to London-Gatwick while halving its summer flights between New York and Paris, according to data from the aviation analytics firm Cirium.
Bottom Line
JetBlue is expanding its transatlantic network once again, adding flights to a seventh European destination: Madrid.
The airline plans launch its first-ever service to Madrid in late May 2025 while also adding another nonstop route to the Scottish capital of Edinburgh – this time from Boston.
