ITA Airways, which Lufthansa Group is taking over, has offered several status match offers to encourage members to sign up for its Volare frequent flier program after a clean start from Alitalia.
The status from the first matches are about to run our, and there is now an offer out for members to extend their status by flying at least once by January 31, 2025.
You can access ITA Airways here.
ITA’s Email To Eligible Members:
You can extend your ITA Airways Volare Executive Club status for flying once by January 31, 2025, for a ticket purchased by January 10.
Volare Executive is ITA’s highest status and usually requires 90,000 status points.
Lufthansa Group is acquiring ITA Airways, and Volare will eventually become Miles&More. Once the new owner runs the show, the airline will also exit SkyTeam and join Star Alliance.
Conclusion
This is probably the easiest way to extend your SkyTeam Elite Plus and only requires a flight on ITA by January 31, 2025.
I expect ITA to exit SkyTeam in 2025 to join Star Alliance. It is unclear how long the Volare program will hang around before it gets folded into Miles&More.
