British Airways announced disastrous changes to its frequent flier program just before the New Year (read more here), which caused a massive uproar among program members. BA has had to reverse these changes partially.
British Airways and Iberia are part of the same group owned by a Spanish company, IAG (International Airlines Group), which, in turn, is partially owned by Qatar Airways with its 25.2% stake.
You can access Iberia here.
Iberia has now sent invitations to its loyalty program members and other partners to an event in Madrid on February 12 to discuss significant changes to its Iberia Plus program.
Can these changes be anything else than going for revenue-based like BA? You already earn Iberia Plus Avios based on cash for Iberia, American Airlines, and British Airways flights.

Conclusion
It is interesting to see what level of carnage IAG and IAG Loyalty are pushing through to Iberia Plus. I genuinely hope that they are now as awful as with BA or Iberia won’t have more than a handful of frequent fliers with elite status left.
