World of Hyatt members spending a set number of nights with the chain can earn Confirmable Suite Upgrade Awards, each valid for a paid or award stay of up to 7 nights.
You haven’t been able to apply for these online, but you have always had to call, email, or chat with Hyatt customer service to find out what suites are eligible for these upgrades and if there is availability. However, you can now do this by yourself online.

You earn Suite Upgrade Awards based on the nights you spend with the chain. You get 2 by default at 60 nights, and they are a Milestone Rewards choice at 40, 50, 70 through 150 nights.
They sit in your account with other awards, and you can also gift them to others (there is plenty of fraud going on with these).
The only issue is that you can only apply these to non-negotiated rates + awards. For all other rates, you need to contact Hyatt customer service to have them applied.
At least you can now see if there is availability for the dates in question and to what suite types these Suite Upgrade Awards can be applied.
Suite Upgrade Awards: Park Hyatt London
When making a reservation, you can now choose the Suite Upgrade Award in addition to the Guest of Honor or Club Access.
The rate search returns the prices for eligible rooms with suite upgrade applied.
Then there are the other rooms and suites.
You can also choose an award and have the suite upgrade cert applied.
There are also other rooms and suites that you can book.
Suite Upgrade Awards: Grand Hyatt Bali
The case with the Grand Hyatt Bali is quite interesting, as they don’t have “standard” rooms available, but you can book a king club room using points at an inflated rate (for those who would get club access regardless).
But then you can boom directly to the eligible suite from the “standard” award room that is not even available for bookings at the 6,500 points per night rate.
Conclusion
This certainly IS a true benefit, as you can now see what suite types the property has made available for using these upgrade awards, even if you need to contact customer service.
Also, you can book an award directly into the suite when no award is available for the baseline rooms.
