The Hilton Adelaide is the next Australian Hilton to exit the system in mid-2026 after Thailand-based Amora Hotels purchased the property this week.
The hotel has been part of Hilton’s portfolio since its opening in 1982 and will follow Hilton Brisbane’s exit, which will take place on April 1st this year (read more here).

Thailand-based Amora Hotels acquired the 377-room hotel for A$100 million, and the new owner plans to spend another A$40 million to renovate it after the Hilton exit.
Hilton’s lease for the hotel expires in June 2026, and the flag change is not expected to occur before then (the new owner can obviously always buy Hilton out).

Conclusion
I have never heard about Amora Hotels, which currently has three hotels open in Thailand (Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai) and another three here in Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane).
It is unfortunate to see these “old” hotels exiting the Hilton system in Australia, but this Adelaide hotel has obviously needed a serious refurbishment for some time.
