Delta has brought back the promotion that allows SkyMiles members to earn both miles and Medallion Qualifying Dollars (MQDs) for hotel stays, vacation & car rentals.
SkyMiles members earn MQDs for the cash price of the hotel stay, vacation, or car rental + double miles for travel through April 30, 2025, if booked between February 3 and March 31.

Hotel stays booked through this website are not eligible for possible elite benefits, qualifying nights/stays, or points.
Conclusion
Delta now uses MQDs as a promotional incentive every few months to drive these hotel and car bookings via the Expedia-powered website.
I don’t use these airline-provided and usually Expedia-run sites, but I often book directly or through discount OTAs that offer lower pricing. However, this may make sense for Delta’s frequent fliers, who are short on MQDs.

SkyMiles Members will earn 1 MQD per eligible US$1 or equivalent foreign currency (“Qualifying Dollars”) spent on the base car rental rate for every completed rental booking, and on the base hotel or vacation rental rate for every completed stay. Hertz Reservations:
- General SkyMiles Members earn 4 miles per Qualifying Dollar
- Silver Medallions earn 5 miles per Qualifying Dollar
- Gold Medallions earn 6 miles per Qualifying Dollar
- Platinum Medallions earn 7 miles per Qualifying Dollar
- Diamond Medallions earn 8 miles per Qualifying Dollar
Dollar and Thrifty Reservations:
- All SkyMiles Members earn 4 miles per Qualifying Dollar
Alamo, Enterprise, National, Avis, Budget and Payless Reservations:

General: Miles and MQDs can only be credited to the SkyMiles Member if the name on the booking matches the name of the SkyMiles account provided.
