Databricks has announced the launch of SAP Databricks, a new integration that connects the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform with the SAP Business Data Cloud. The partnership aims to help enterprises unify SAP data with other business-critical systems, improving data warehousing, AI applications, and analytics.
SAP applications power core business functions such as finance, procurement, HR, and supply chain management. However, many enterprises struggle to extract full value from their SAP data due to on-premise infrastructure and fragmented data systems.
SAP Databricks enables companies to:
- Unify SAP data with other enterprise datasets through bi-directional data sharing using Delta Sharing.
- Streamline data access and governance with Unity Catalog, ensuring security and compliance.
- Leverage AI-driven insights with Mosaic AI, allowing businesses to develop domain-specific AI applications trained on private SAP data.
“Every organization is searching for a faster, more reliable way to translate their data into strategic advantage,” said Ali Ghodsi, co-founder and CEO of Databricks. “Together with SAP, we’re helping businesses seamlessly unify their data sources, streamline analytics, and accelerate AI-driven innovation.”
Industry partnerships and AI-driven transformation
SAP Databricks integrates ERP data with operational insights, allowing enterprises to scale AI applications and improve decision-making. Leading industry partners have highlighted its potential:
- Accenture: “Generative AI is a catalyst for reinvention, but organizations need a complete understanding of their data to scale AI effectively,” said Karthik Narain, group chief executive – technology and CTO at Accenture.
- Capgemini: “SAP Databricks will enable seamless data integration, maximizing AI-driven business benefits,” said Niraj Parihar, CEO of insights and data global business line at Capgemini.
- Deloitte: “The new SAP Databricks offering will help clients break down data silos and drive business transformation,” said Jessica Kosmowski, global ecosystems and alliances leader at Deloitte Consulting.
- EY: “Connecting data across the enterprise unlocks transformative business opportunities,” said Hugh Burgin, EY-Databricks alliance leader.
SAP Databricks is part of SAP Business Data Cloud and will be available in a phased rollout on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. More details will be shared at the SAP Business Unleashed virtual event.
