- Soneium protocol has integrated Chainlink Standards to boost its performance.
- The Ethereum layer-2 solution is positioned to power a functional developer ecosystem.
On Tuesday, Chainlink (LINK), a leading decentralized oracle network, announced its core solutions are now live on Soneium mainnet. As summarized in our earlier news story, Sonieum is an Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain solution unveiled by Sony Block Solutions Labs in August.
Chainlink Becomes a Key Launch Partner of Soneium
According to the announcement, Chainlink CCIP, Chainlink Data Streams, and Data Feeds are now available on the Soneium mainnet. With this integration, Chainlink has become a key launch partner for the next-gen blockchain by Sony Block Solutions Labs.
Specifically, Soneium will leverage Chainlink’s Cross Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as its canonical cross-chain infrastructure. Meanwhile, Chainlink’s Data Feeds and Data Streams will enable Soneium developers to build feature-rich DeFi applications with high-quality market data.

Jun Watanabe, Chairman of Sony BSL, commented, “Developers now have access to critical Chainlink infrastructure that will allow them to expand what’s possible to build on Soneium.”
Soneium is a unique initiative that aims to bring Web3 technologies to Sony Group’s extensive user base. Besides Chainlink, Sonieum utilizes capabilities from other Web3 partners, including Circle, Alchemy, The Graph, and Astar Network, as CNF discussed earlier.
Essentially, Soneium seeks to close the gap between TradFi and Web3 by connecting those with cultural differences and onboarding people on-chain. Soneium joined the Chainlink Scale program in September 2024 in an earlier integration with Oracle. The Chainlink Scale program is an initiative focused on sustainably accelerating the growth of blockchain and layer-2 ecosystems.
Soneium’s recent collaboration with Chainlink comes amid a growing use of the protocol’s standard in the blockchain space. As featured in our recent coverage, Sonic Labs deployed Chainlink’s CCIP on the Sonic mainnet. In addition to the CCIP, Sonic Labs, the team behind EVM Layer-1 blockchain Sonic, also integrated Chainlink Data Streams and Data Feeds.
In a similar move, BOB Network has integrated Chianlink’s CCIP as a canonical infrastructure for its native token.
Sony Launches Other Projects to Support Soneium
In a previous article, we discussed Sony Group’s launch of Soneium in collaboration with Startale Labs. Soneium is designed to overcome major challenges in the Web3 space. At the same time, Soneium comes off as a powerful platform for developers, creators, and brands to thrive.
Alongside the Soneium launch, Sony has introduced the Fan Marketing Platform, which utilizes Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to revolutionize engagement and marketing. The platform will make it easier for fans to interact with their favorite creators and brands. Another key feature includes web-based wallets with social login options.
In addition, Sony has introduced S.BLOX to support creators and brands. S.BLOX offers digital asset exchange services designed to simplify access to Web3 applications. New users can receive Bitcoin (BTC) rewards worth 3,000 yen. The idea is to drive innovation by enabling seamless crypto acquisition and use across the Soneium ecosystem.
