British Airways launched an Avios Booster (a Points.com product) in June 2023 (read more here), which allows you to multiply (read buy more Avios) previously earned Avios from ALL sources at a price.
Now, British Airways allows you to double, triple, or quadruple all the Avios you earned in 2024 (usually within a shorter window), but only until February 3, 2025.

Remember that British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Qatar Airways, and Finnair all use the same Avios, and you can move Avios between various accounts by linking them first via BA.
You can up to QUADRUPLE the earned Avios, and not only triple.

Then you are presented with various prices, and here BA hopes that you are math-challenged and unable to calculate the Avios price, as they vary between each boost level:
100% boost = (1739,.65/139172) = 1.25 US cents each
200% boost = (3395.80/278344) = 1.22 US cents each
300% boost = (6302.87/417516) = 1.51 US cents each
400% boost = (9503.82/556688) = 1.71 US cents each
The price per Avios is the lowest at the 200% boost level.

The price is the lowest for Avios boosts at 300% and 400% levels for up to 300,000 Avios.

You can choose the transaction you would like to boost. The lowest price of a boosted Avios under this offer in USD is 1.22 cents each, which is about the lowest price you can buy from BA, but you have been able to buy them cheaper through Finnair:

Conclusion
This is just another way for British Airways to sell more Avios, which sidesteps the theoretical yearly limits.
Buying Avios can make sense, but it entirely depends on how you use them and if you have access to BA’s upgrade certs and availability waivers.
You have to remember that BA charges very high fuel/carrier surcharges on its premium awards, especially if you start the trip from the United States.

- The transaction currency will be pre-determined and based on the registered country of the British Airways Executive Club account.
- The Purchaser must be a member of the British Airways Executive Club and age 18 years or over.
- The Purchaser must have at least one Avios in their Executive Club account to buy Avios. If the Purchaser has a balance of zero Avios, they’ll need to have collected or redeemed Avios in the past 36 months in order to buy Avios.
- The Purchaser will be unable to buy Avios if they have a negative balance.
- Purchasing Avios will reset the 36-month Avios expiry rule, as set out in the British Airways Executive Club Terms and Conditions.
- You have the right to cancel contracts for the purchase of Avios within 14 days of purchase, provided the Avios haven’t been used. To exercise the right to cancel the purchase of Avios, you must select the refund option contained in your transaction email confirmation. If you cancel, we’ll reimburse the entire payment within 14 days from the day on which we were informed about your decision to cancel this contract.
- Avios which are subsequently refunded will not constitute activity for the purposes of the 36-month Avios expiry rule in the Terms and Conditions.
- In the case of fraud or misconduct, both as defined in the Terms and Conditions, British Airways reserves the right at any time in its absolute discretion to terminate the membership of any member and may cancel all accrued and accruing Avios of the member and any reward booking.
