Hilton Brisbane will exit the Hilton system on April 1, 2025, and it is currently unclear under what brand the hotel will operate after that.
The hotel joined the Hilton system in 1986. There was some confusion about the fate of the hotels last year when new bookings were temporarily closed past September, but it seems that the building’s owner and operator were able to agree on whatever disputes they had at the time.

There is no point in asking you to make a reservation at another area Hilton hotel, as there are none, and this Ovolo doesn’t count as one (SLH).
Conclusion
It is remarkable that this hotel has stayed under the same brand for close to 40 years, but now its affiliation with Hilton is ending.
Significant development appears to be occurring in the block where the hotel is, and some refurbishments are planned for this property. However, it is unclear if someone else’s brand will take it over immediately or if some renovations will be done first.
It has been a decade since I visited Brisbane and stayed at the Sofitel. Since then, quite a few new hotels have come online, so perhaps it is time to revisit soon.
