- BNB Chain has unveiled its 2025 vision, focusing on scaling to 100 million transactions per day, strengthening security to combat MEV exploits, and introducing a smart wallet solution similar to EIP-7702.
- BNB Chain places a strong emphasis on AI use cases in its roadmap, focusing on utilizing valuable private data and enhancing existing developer tools.
BNB Chain has unveiled its 2025 roadmap, putting an “AI-First” approach at the forefront of its strategy to transform the blockchain landscape. 2024 was a busy year for BNB Chain, marked by several key milestones. The Total Value Locked (TVL) saw a notable increase of 41.7%, reflecting strong growth in the platform’s financial ecosystem.
The network also achieved 4.7 million Daily Active Users (DAU) on opBNB, highlighting its growing user base and adoption. In terms of security, BNB Chain made significant progress with a 67% reduction in financial losses from security breaches, dropping from $162 million in 2023 to $53 million in 2024.
AI and Web3
Having already deployed over 60 AI-driven projects across diverse sectors, including AI-powered gaming, decentralized finance, social networks, and AI agent platforms, BNB Chain is committed to accelerating AI trends in 2025. Key initiatives include utilizing private data for tailored AI training, particularly in BioTech AI, and advancing the development of DataDAOs for decentralized data governance.
Additionally, Autonomous AI Agents leveraging Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for enhanced model storage will be crucial growth areas. To support these advancements, BNB Chain will introduce a comprehensive AI-Web3 toolkit, improving wallet management, decentralized exchanges, and cross-chain interoperability.
Low Latency and Increased Throughput
According to the report, the network introduced Parallel Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) on opBNB and Consecutive Block Production on BSC, both designed to significantly boost performance. The Parallel Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) on opBNB allowed for simultaneous processing of smart contract transactions, improving execution speed and reducing congestion. BNB Chain aims to push blockchain performance to new heights. BNB Chain aims to reduce transaction latency by lowering block time from three seconds to sub-second speeds while also increasing network throughput to process 100 million transactions per day.
Gasless Transactions and Smart Wallets
Gas fees have long been a barrier to blockchain adoption, often deterring users from seamless interactions with decentralized applications (dApps). To address this, BNB Chain introduced Megafuel in 2024, a solution leveraging the Proposer Builder Separation mechanism to enable gasless transactions for stablecoins
Megafuel’s 2025 upgrade will introduce gasless transactions for all user interactions, allowing users to transact from their EOA addresses without incurring gas fees. Additionally, it will enable flexible gas fee payments, allowing users to pay with stablecoins or other BEP-20 tokens. The update also introduces sponsored transactions, where individuals or organizations can cover transaction costs to improve accessibility.
BNB Chain will also enhance wallet functionality and user experience by introducing a smart wallet solution similar to EIP-7702, designed to simplify onboarding, streamline transactions, and improve gas management. A key feature of this upgrade is improved key management, which will make it easier for new users to onboard by reducing the complexities of private key handling while maintaining security.
Additionally, batch transactions will eliminate the need for the tedious “approve-first-then-trade” process, allowing users to execute multiple actions in a single step for a more seamless experience.
Eliminating Malicious MEV
Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) attacks have long been a concern in the blockchain space, with Sandwich Attacks being one of the most damaging for traders. BNB Chain took a major step toward mitigating malicious MEV by leveraging the Proposer Builder Separation (PBS) architecture last year. The BNB Chain community, backed by a governance proposal, has pledged to eliminate malicious MEV from the network. As part of this effort, BSC validators will collaborate to improve communication channels, enhancing block voting and block propagation mechanisms. These enhancements collectively aim to make blockchain interactions more efficient, cost-effective, and user-friendly.
