Conclusion
I doubt that many of us who buy LifeMiles during their frequent sales mainly use them for Avianca flights, but rather for those on Star Alliance airlines.
However, I booked a couple of Avianca flight awards using LifeMiles, when I visited the Galapagos Islands the other year.
