We have previously had several cases where Marriott and Hilton hotels have shared the elite member numbers on front desk displays, too (could there be other reasons?) to lower the expectations of elite members.
A LoyaltyLobby reader sent us a copy of an image that has been shared online about Accor ALL elite member numbers at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara tonight that are high.
You can access Accor ALL here.

Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara Elite Member Numbers December 25, 2024:
I assume these are NOT check-in numbers for today but rather the number of Accor ALL elite guests in-house tonight.
The hotel has 312 rooms and only a small number of suites (8?).
It is undoubtedly challenging to upgrade 55 Diamond and Platinum members when you only have 8 or so suites.
The hotel has other “premium” rooms, but usually, the square meter-wise, they are all the same.
There is also the question about the Club Millesime capacity when you have at least 55 elite members + their companions in-house + other guests who have paid for the club access. How can they accommodate them all?
But I do feel the hotel’s pain as well.
Accor promotes the Accor Live Limitless (ALL) guest loyalty program with benefits and offers quite a few fast tracks and “hacks” to get Platinum and Diamond tiers without too much pain(yes, we have covered them all). Obviously, members want to enjoy their hard-earned benefits.
If you look at the hotel’s display, there appears to be a Platinum glut, a tier that is the sweet spot in the Accor(verse) that comes with club access and breakfast benefits (the latter only in the Asia-Pacific).
Marriott hotels have started to show the number of elite members checking in on any given day.

Conclusion
I find displays like these distasteful because the hotel has only one reason for having them out: to lower guest expectations.
But there is no way for us, the guests, to know that the numbers are real, although I have no reason to doubt that these for tonight at the Sofitel Kuala Lumpur wouldn’t.
You may wonder where all the LIMITLESS guests are, as they are not spelled out on the Sofitel display. This is the “secret” and invitation-only tier. Also, there is no note of how many non-status Accor ALL members are in-house tonight.
