Chase Ultimate Rewards and Air Canada Aeroplan have re-launched their 20% Bonus conversion offer for transfers completed between December 4 and January 15, 2025.
Ultimate Rewards points to Aeroplan miles conversions are usually transferred 1:1 (1000 miles for 1000 points) but bonused by 20% during the promo period and Chase Aeroplan cardholders can get up to 30% bonus.
You can access Chase for the conversion of Air Canada and other programs here by logging into your account.
There are two different bonus options, one for all Ultimate Rewards earning cards (20%) and an additional 10% for Chase Aeroplan cardholders:
Here is the description of the two transfer options:

Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or failure to provide, the stated benefits.
What I like about Aeroplan transfers is that the points move instantly and that Aeroplan still has some decent redemptions, including the stopover option for a small premium. This elevates the value of awards.
I’ve been asked before if it makes sense to hold the Chase Aeroplan card rather than any other credit card from the Chase portfolio.
I usually say that largely depends on the preference of the customer and how often one actually uses Air Canada.
For the purpose of this promotion, it gives an extra 10% for the conversion, but if that’s enough of an argument to carry it as a separate card… probably not.
Chase launched the Aeroplan cards in 2021 to provide an option to U.S.-based Air Canada fliers, but the carrier’s quality has taken a serious turn for the worse since then. Of course, there is no need to use Aeroplan miles strictly for AC flights.
Chase Ultimate Rewards currently has a range of other conversion bonuses as well, which John covered last week:

Conclusion
It makes sense to convert points to miles during these conversion offers, but only if you have a specific use case for them and plan to redeem an award soon. I would rather keep these credit card points in a transferable currency than move them into a specific program where they will be stuck until I find an opportunity to redeem them.
I like Aeroplan miles due to Air Canada’s extensive partner list and the ability to have a stopover for a modest fee, which most other airlines no longer offer.
As always, I recommend checking availability for the desired award and the retail price before transferring points to any loyalty program to ensure the best value.
