A popular annual promotion by the U.S. Travel Association – the U.S. Daily Getaways – has apparently been ended and will no longer be offered in 2025 and beyond.
The website where these upcoming promotions are usually advertised has been updated and now reflects that the annual event that we have covered since its inception will no longer be held.
You can access the website for the Daily Getaways here.
In recent years, it has also been increasingly difficult to score a decent deal during the campaigns, especially for the most popular partners such as Hyatt (points packages), all while most other offers have been lackluster.
This is what the website currently shows:
While it hasn’t been as good as in the past, and the program was actually paused during Covid, it was always interesting to see what these companies came up with in terms of offers.
The points packages were especially lucrative, and in the early years, Hyatt actually had some kind of error that would count the purchased points as lifetime points. This means many folks who bought a lot of packages raised their lifetime balance substantially and have by now reached Lifetime Globalist.
We have covered the U.S. Daily Getaways since 2012:
This has been one of the most longstanding promotional campaigns I can remember and only briefly interrupted by the pandemic.
In recent years, the number of attractive packages – especially with Hyatt – was more a token participation by some of these companies and barely worth the effort of setting an alarm trying to get some of them. even when plenty of these packages were available, it was always challenging to actually get in on the deal.
For example, last year’s Hyatt offers really were a joke:
- 50,000 points for $660 (9 Packages) – Maximum 1
- 30,000 points for $396 (3 Packages) – Maximum 1
- 80,000 points for $960 (12 Packages) – Maximum 1
9-12 packages total availability? Really? I guess if they want to play it like this, they can just stop.
Conclusion
The popular U.S. Daily Getaways campaign ran by the U.S. Travel Association will no longer be held according to the website.
The U.S. Travel Association promotes tourism in and for the U.S. American Express is a main supporter of the organization, which has also provided some benefits in the form of extra discounts in the past when paying with Amex.
I have contacted them to see if there will be a new promotion in the future that follows a similar or different model and will update readers with any news.
