Avianca, a Star Alliance airline, has launched a buy miles Cyber Day Promotion with up to 185% Bonus for LifeMiles purchases made through December 3, 2024.
LifeMiles members can buy up to 200,000 miles (before any possible bonus) in a transaction and up to 500K miles in any calendar year before the bonus.

LifeMiles is useful because the program doesn’t levy these pesky fuel surcharges for redemptions but availability might be spotty as the LM search engine doesn’t always reflect the same availability as other Star Alliance carrier programs.

The bonus applies as follows: for purchases for 1,000 lifemiles receive 125% additional miles, for purchases between 2,000 – 25,000 lifemiles receive 145% additional miles, for purchases between 26,000 – 45,000 lifemiles receive 165% additional miles and for purchases between 46,000 – 200,000 lifemiles receive 185% additional miles. The miles must be purchased in multiples of 1,000. The minimum miles to purchase per transaction is 1,000 lifemiles. The maximum miles to purchase per transaction during this promotion is 200,000 lifemiles. Additionally, the maximum miles that a member can receive during the promotion is 500,000 miles, minus the miles that the member has previously purchased in 2024, excluding bonus miles.
