The Venetian and Palazzo in Las Vegas ended their partnership with InterContinental Hotels Group, where these two hotels were InterContinental Alliance branding (read more here).
Hyatt then announced (read more here) that they had struck a deal and that these properties would become part of the World of Hyatt, which has now happened.

Hyatt’s Venetian Las Vegas Notice:
WORLD OF HYATT BENEFITS:
Some benefits like bottled water and complimentary breakfast, Club access, and free parking for free night awards for Globalists are not available at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
Elite members can enjoy on property benefits from The Venetian Resort such as early check-in, late checkout and room upgrades if available at check-in.
So, basically, there are no benefits for World of Hyatt members other than booking inflated rates through Hyatt and dynamically priced award reservations that make zero sense.
Remember that only bookings made through Hyatt are eligible for the night credit and World of Hyatt points.
World of Hyatt Benefits at the Venetian IF Booked Through Hyatt:
- 5 Base Points per eligible $1 USD spent on rooms and resort fees and at 20+ participating restaurants and bars, select retail locations at The Venetian and The Palazzo when charged to your room (alcohol, taxes and other exclusions apply)
- 4 Bonus Points per eligible $1 USD for World of Hyatt Credit Cardmembers on eligible spend when charged to your room
- Standard tier Bonus Points for elite tier members on eligible room rates and resort fees and eligible spend at participating restaurants and bars, and select retail locations at The Venetian and The Palazzo when charged to your room
- Credit toward earning tier status and Milestone Rewards
- Redeem points for free nights at The Venetian and The Palazzo as well as 1,350+ Hyatt hotels globally

Award Pricing
Conclusion
When IHG announced that their deal with Venetian in Las Vegas was ending, they also stated it would not have any measurable difference to their financials, and I am sure that the case here is the same with Hyatt,
Why would World of Hyatt members book something through Hyatt, pay an inflated price, and receive practically no on-property elite benefits even at the Globalist level?
When you combine this with award prices of more than 100,000 Word of Hyatt points per night, you cannot conclude that this partnership is pure lunacy from the guest’s perspective.
